Some Domestic Rabbit Breeds You Can Raise
There are about 40 recognized rabbit breeds at present and most of these come in a variety of colors, sizes, and ‘attitude’. As a person who wants to start raising rabbits at home, choosing the right rabbit can be challenging yet exciting one.
In this article, I am sharing you some of these breeds so, at least, you will have an idea about which rabbit breeds you can raise in your home.

American Checkered Giant: Is about 11 pounds (lbs) and is distinguished by its white with black or blue markings seen along spine, body spots, cheek spots, colored ears, eye circles and butterfly mark on nose.

American Chinchilla - has a rounded body shape and about 9-12 pounds (4.1-5.5 kg), and is popular of its dense, fine hair that is smooth and glossy

Belgian Hare - is about 6-9.5 lbs (2.7-4.3 kg), has a slender build, reddish tan or chestnut with slate blue undercoloring and with fairly stiff coat.

English Spot- is approximately 5-8 pounds (2.3-3.6 kg) and has a long arched body (just like hare), white with black, blue, chocolate, gold, grey, lilac or tortoise and with markings that include butterfly mark on nose; with colored ears, eye rings, spine marking (which is herringboned) and a spot on the cheek and a chain of spots along the body.

Himilayan- approximately 2.5-4.5 pounds (1.1-2 kg); black, blue, chocolate, lilac. Coloration develops on cooler extrmities - ears, nose, tail, feet and legs.
